Jamming!

Al has always been a huge music fan. Since I can remember her favorite singer is Mariah Carey. One Christmas, she was so excited because my parent bought her a tape player with headphones. Then she got a CD player and now....she has an IPOD. Shes probably got about 1000 songs on it. Today was funny though...she had on her headphones while we were outside taking in the sun...she was just jammin! JAM ON BIG AL....JAM ON! Notice the seriousness of her face while she searches for the perfect song.

Bathtime

My little monkey has been taking a bath since her belly button came off 2 weeks ago, so I would say she is fairly new to the whole bath thing. Some days she is cool, she wont cry she will just enjoy...other days like today...she totally hated it. I just dont understand, its so relaxing...soothing...yet she hates it some days. She gets that from her Papa. Sorry baby, but your booty must be washed.

My little sleepy head

I laid Jade down for a nap this afternoon before Ma left and when we came back, this is what I saw.

She NEVER sleeps on her back like this. When I have tried to put her on her back she just moves around like crazy...but not today...today she must have been super tired, I mean who wouldnt be, all that baby stress can really get a girl down. She looked so peaceful. She was definately enjoying every minute of her afternoon nap... Look at that face! Geez....she is making me sleepy now!

As we speak she is asleep...I look at her and she is just getting so big, every morning when I wake up she is bigger (to me). She gets heavier and heavier. My big chunky monkey. I am however very proud of her. She stays up the majority of the day, usually when we wake up we go outside and look at the morning. Most of the times it would be peaceful if it wasnt for those damn Guinea Hens we have walking the streets. They are very loud. Not only do they cause a scene, but we have some Squirrel drama going on, it seems that they enjoy fighting ALOT in the morning. When Jade and I are waking up, we can hear them on my roof, just chasing each other. Eventually one will either fall off or slide off...or land in my chimney LOL.

This morning however, was a bit diffrent. Her and I walk outside in the front, I pull up my rocking chair and sit with her as we watch people walk by or cars hooking ass by us. LOL. But not this morning...this morning was diffrent. We are outside with Ma and we see 3 dogs...small in size. They are chasing each other around, playing (so I thought). When the little chihuahua dog jumps on the other dog and start being dirty HAHAHA. We started laughing! Poor Jade she saw Puppy Porn this morning.

Wonderful Afternoon in the Neighborhood

Ma comes over on a daily basis to help me out with some of my chores and with the baby. Which thank God, I have her because at this point I would be hitting the roof. I could not ask God for any better type of support, as the support I have from my mom and sister. Anywhoo... this afternoon as I was walking Ma out the door, I noticed a beautiful sight, I just love the way the sun looks as its setting. It's such a relaxing sight. It's not too hot outside, there was a small evening breeze, it was just relaxing to me.

I Hate Flys!!

Everytime I open my door, a retarded fly always ends up inside my house. Most of the time its about 4 or 5 and me and Lupe are always trying to kill them. The past weekend, we decided to stay in and he was going to grill. Our luck, we were being attacked by flies! It really sucks because they are super annoying. Especially when I am talking to Lupe and then a damn fly just decides to make a landing right on my forehead! Not cute. So I remembered, when we would go to Mexico my Grandma Juanita would cook and flys would just attack! So before she would cook, she would hang up a clear plastic bag, halfway full of water and hang it. She would actually do a few. And the flys would go away...I dont know how...but they would not swarm around us. So we tried it...I must say it was pretty successful.

Spending time with Al!

I don't know if I have ever told you about Al. Al is my little sister, in years of course, but she takes care of me as if I were her little sister. She is a beautiful person inside and out! Trust me, she is total hottie when she dresses up! She can pull of the bandanna look...I sure cant! She is the person with kindest heart. She is brave, she isn't scared of many things except insects and every now and then she is scared of the dark, but that depends if she watched a scary movie of not. She is kind, generous and very outgoing. She cracks me up, she is super hilarious...her and I can laugh for hours over the dumbest things hahaha. But what makes Al super special...This afternoon, I needed to go check the mailbox and I was barefooted so I asked her to let me borrow her flip flops, as I was putting them on and she was taking them off, I noticed that she folds her toes in...haha, that's how she keeps her feet from getting dirty lol!

She likes to indulge in chocolate like I do, she is there every time I need her. She lets me slap her around and she takes it with a smile!

She is awesome because she loves my Baby's feet!But besides all that stuff, she is awesome sister and my best friend...

But....the best part about her is....She is the best Aunt in the entire world! My baby totally loves her!

Lunch anyone?

So, my mom made some Carne Guisada, thats beef tips with gravy in english. She made it with some white rice....it was delicious! Ma said lunch was done and so I go into the kithcen and I see my sister eating off of her plate, and I look...its just plain beef tips...no gravy, no pepper...no nothing with some rice! I told her, her meat looked like dog food! HAHA but she didnt care...she loves it. It was just her and her meat. LOL...To each his own...to each his own!

Jade- 1 month

My baby girl turned 1 month on July 30th! I took her to the Dr. for her Well Baby, she is now 9lbs 3 oz what a big girl!! She is growing perfectly. She is on her every 3 hr feedings...however come night time, she doesnt wake up as often. She wakes up 2-3 times a night and thats it. She lets mommy and daddy sleep! YAY. She is now eating 3 1/2 oz. I have been giving her formula, since I have not been able to produce enough milk supply. I end up pumping about 6oz only.

I ended up going to my OBGYN and he prescribed this medicane called Reglan. Unfortunalty for me this was the worst medicne I have ever taken. It has aweful side effects. I started taking it on a Monday and fortunatley for me I only took 2 or 3 a day other than the 4 daily that it said to take, come Wednesday at 3am, after feeding her I almost fell back, because I got such a strong dizzy spell. I ended up getting about 4 more spells that morning along with a panic attack. Thankfully I was only on it for 3 days. However the side effects really scared me so bad that I ended up going to the ER because I was so scared of the dizzy spells, the weakness and the nausea.

The Dr said that it was out of my system, however mentally this aweful drug affected me. Yesterday I was scared to be in Babies R Us...but I managed to control it. I think that along with the med, I have been sleep deprived and have not been eating 3 meals a day, nor do I snack. So I believe it also played a big part in me feeling the weakness and dizziness. I am now feeling better, but I will start sleeping early and eating right. I will learn to relax and not get stressed over the smallest things. To avoid anything like this.

So, if you or anyone you know have been precribed this crap....DO NOT TAKE IT! It has horrible side effects and it also leaves you shaken up after a few days. I was talking to a lady that took it for the same reason I did and with in a few hours she said she felt like jumping out of her building! STUPID DRUG!!!

Reglan- WORST MED EVER

Today my sweet baby is 1 month old! YAY Happy Birthday baby girl!! And since she has been home I have not been able to produce much milk to actually feed her when she needs to be fed. I end up producing about 3 oz 2 times a day. She feeds more than that a day. Anywhoo, I talked to my Dr and he prescribed Reglan. Which was the worst medicane ever! I have NEVER in my life experienced such aweful side effects from a medicane like I did this one.

Around 2 am, after feeding Jade I layed her down in her crib and I got this aweful dizzy spell. I layed down and thought maybe I had gotten up too fast. So while I layed there I got another dizzy spell. By this point I was scared to death and was starting to sweat. I was having some sort of anxiety attack. I woke my husband up and he tended to me. I didnt know why this was happening to me. So I remembered that I was taking Reglan, and the side effects are...dizziness, drowsiness, anxiety etc...everything in the book that you can think of. My luck...I felt all of that .

Its about 8:00pm and I am starting to feel alot better now, I am tired and just a little weak, but I think its becase when you have an anxiety attack all your strengh gets drained! All I can say is if you know anyone who is having trouble lactating and their Dr. gives them this med....PLEASE....PLEASE tell them not to take this. I have looked up info on this med and it actually has long lasting side effects for those who have taking it longer.

Being a New Parent

Nobody said it would be easy, however I am enjoying every second with her. I'm still trying to recognize her diffrent types of cries. Her diffrent noises...some which scare me even though I know that they are harmless...but still scare the crap out of me. At night its still kinda hard to sleep, even though she does a great job at sleeping through 3 hr intervals until her next feeding...but I just stay up to hear evey noise she makes. I'm very paranoid. Thank God for my family who has helped me out so much, I sleep during the day while my mom watches her and then I take over the night shift.

So, while I am up at night....I have grown very fond of the Food Network.

The shows at night are actually pretty cool. I watch Iron Chef, Guys Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, Wrapped. They are pretty cool. It just seems that, thats the only channel that isnt showing anything on Michael Jackson.

The day my life changed :)

I was heading over to the L&D at 8:00pm to be there for my scheduled induction at 9:00pm. The weather was really weird, it was cloudy, windy and rainy! Before I headed out though, Ma came over so she could come with me and my sister came to wish me luck. We hugged and she went home. Look at those clouds...nasty huh?! So I get to L&D and well, they admit me and stuff...then they stick me with the IV auuughh that part sucked because they were using the new kind that was made of rubber so it hurt twice as much going in!

They gave me some Cervadil at 10pm....nothing! Then around 8 am they started up the Pitocin...the contractions came on, not as strong. They came and checked me regularly and I was only at 3cm dilated. However, the baby's heart was plunging in and out and they were worried about that. So they came and broke my water which HURT!!! Then here came the even stronger contactions! I wasnt given an epidural until 12 noon. Around 3:30pm on 6/30 my Dr comes in and says "We need to do a C-Section, seems like her cord is wrapped around her neck" He freaked me out because I was worried about her!

At 3:54pm on 6/30/09, my life changed...it changed in a way that words cant even explain. After so many years of trying, my husband hands me over my sweet little girl. I kiss her and cant even believe this is real...she is so warm and adorable and she is mine! This is the little person who would keep me up at nigh kicking me and tugging at me..LOL. She is the little monkey who would go crazy in my belly when she would hear her daddys voice. She is the one that has my heart and has totally changed my life. I just can not see myself loving anyone as much as I love her. I hold her in my arms and its still so unreal to me! But its true & its real and God gave ME this honor. I will try to be the best mom possible to my daughter, try to teach her good, and try and be at least close to how awesome my mom is. She has been brought in to a family who has waited for her for years! Welcome home my angel pie! I love you so much!

Sleepless at the L&D

Its about 2 am and I have slept maybe 1 hour which sucks cause I need to sleep but I can't lol!

How I spend my day

Well, since the Dr put me on a Semi Bed rest...I havent really done much. I have cleaned, done laundry and cooked. Other than that I pretty much chill with my mommy and my sister, whom by the way are awesome company.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the Dr. and we will see if she has dropped and if she has he will send me to the hospital. If she hasnt he will wait 6 more days! Whatever he thinks is best for my baby.

He said that I have been doing very well in keeping up with my blood pressure, I havent swelled much but my feet look chubbier, good thing I always have them done heheh

Also, here lately I have been so much into watching the Food Network! Its just so awesome! YAY food!

HEAT SUCKS

Today, Lupe and I needed to go run a couple of errands. Take care of a few last minute details. However, I did not expect this!!!!

104 degrees!! OMG! I thought I was going to just pass out! Thank goodness for my husband, because he always remembers to get water for me. GEEZ! LOL I just cant believe how hot it was. My poor daddy...he has to work outdoors :(

38 weeks pregnant

I am 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant. My...how my belly has grown LOL. It just seems like over night I grew even more. Here is my 38 week picture! LOL. My feet are starting to swell just a little, but I think its because I am up and around at home, cleaning and getting stuff organized. It sucks cause it hurts all the way up to my thigh!

My mom and sister have been hanging out with me all day and I love it. I have been able to relax but at the same time I have been able to take care of stuff. My mom and sis have helped tons. What the heck would I do with out them??!!!

Maternity Leave

It's official, I am now on Maternity Leave. It feels awesome to be home. I have had a chance to dust my house from top to bottom. Get everything organized for when my little monkey gets here. The good thing is that I do not have to suffer any more...since I am being induced and let me tell ya, being pregnant and in the summer really bites! Not a good combo!

I have already gotten Jadey's crib set up, it has all the bedding on it. Her daddy has already put batteries in her Swing, Bouncy and her little music box. We have the wipes and all ready right by the bed! I can honestly say that I am super excited...I am so grateful to God that he has given me the honor to be a mommy! I am nervous and kinda scared about the whole inducing part...but I have faith in God and I know all will be ok.

Inducing!

I went to the Dr on Friday, he weight me and I have not gained a pound since the last visit. Which is awesome! They ofcourse checked to see if I have swollen, which I have...but very little. He said my blood pressure was great! We also talked about inducing. Due to the fact that I have been having such a hard time walking, rolling out of bed....and the fact that I live 40 minutes away from the hospital, he decided to induce me on June, 29th. I AM SOOO EXCITED! But at the same time I am scared. This is my first baby and I dont know what to expect. Im sure all first time moms feel like that. Anywhoo...so we will meet our little monkey a week earlier! YAY! My last day of work will be Tuesday, and then I am taking the remainer of the week to go to my next Dr appointment, and to get things cleaned and settled for when Jade gets here! I cant wait! I have tons of faith and God and I know all will be fine. Also, the Dr switched up hospitals on me!! I will be delivering at Park Plaza off of Binz Rd. I will keep posting all the updates!

36 Week Check Up

We went to the Dr. today, and she weighed me. I have gained a total of 9 lbs so far through my entire pregnancy! Can you believe that?! She was very proud of me. She also checked my blood pressure and it was great! She said I have done a great job. We went ahead and did the pelvic exam, she did the Strep B test and checked to see if I was dilated. I am now 1 cm dilated and my cervix has thinned out. How exciting! She also said that we could talk about possibly inducing labor with in 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. Thats even more exciting, but we will definately know more this coming Friday!

Lupe and I have also discussed who would be in the delivery room with us, and we both agreed that its better that it be me, him and my mom. Only because she is my mom and I feel a million times better with her by my side. Plus...its her first grandbaby and she totally deserves to watch this! Lupe thought it would be an awesome idea to have her there. So that is our decision. So for now...we just sit and wait on our baby! COME ON JADEY!

Anxiously Waiting for Baby Jade

As alot of my closest friends know. Lupe and I tried for several years to concieve. God granted us our most desired wish and here comes our Baby Jade! We have 3 weeks left until she comes! *crossing fingers* Hopefully sooner. We have truly been blessed with great Family and Friends. We recieved tons and tons of gifts! I can honestly say that we are prepared for our baby girl! Check out all the cool stuff!

Baby Shower

My wonderful friend Tania went and threw me a baby shower! She did awesome! My Awesome Momma and sister had the place all decorated, then my sweety pie made some rocking Brisket, potatoe salad, beans and rice! My sister in law Sue bought me the awesome cake! That was super sweet of her! We played some really cool games too...Check out some of the pictures!!

Can NOT sleep!!!

So it's about 12:45 at night and I am wide awake!!! I planned in getting a good nights sleep by actually getting into bed by 8:30! I was actully just relaxing in bed until 9:00, that's when my hunny came and got in bed with me and as soon as he started playing with my hair...I was knocked out. However, now I'm up! I woke up because it was way too hot for me in the room!!! I keep the house at 67 when we go to bed because my bosy temp is a lot hotter right now that I'm pregnant! So I got up and it was on 76 Geeeeeeez!!! I about freeked!! I often wonder if I make muyself hot sleeping with 4 pillows then I lean on lupe at night! Hmmmm maybe I will try minimizing my pillows and see if that works!

Friday Night

Tonight Ma and Alex came over to stay with me, while the hubby went to go watch the Rockets...I would have gone...however, I have been really nauseated and just not in the mood to be around alot of people. Anywhoo, we were outside, just hanging out talking and we saw how beautiful the moon looked today. Isnt God just so awesome, how he creates all the wonderful things for us to look at!!

31 Weeks

I hit 31 weeks today, Thank God. I have been feeling great! However, my freakin allergies have been acting up like crazy! My eyes burn and they are watery....Speaking of eyes...I woke up this morning and my eye felt super weird..a bit on the heavy side. So I get up and look in the mirror, and much to my surprise...I have a damn pimple on my eye!! How is that even possible! I dont think anyone has ever had a zit on their eye lid...except for me...ONLY ME *sigh* Here is the pic...Im not sure if you can see it real good but its there!! I'm sure my friend Stink is laughing her butt off to this....as my pain brings her joy LOL Its been like that for years!

Not only and I freaking out about the crater on my eye...but I have also been freaking out about that Swine Flu....I keep asking myself...Is it really that serious? I mean..more people die of the regular flu each year. I dont know....what ever the case may be, I am taking my Vitamin C's and prenatals, my OJ and trying to stay away from large crowds, washing my hands more. It just confuses me because I hear some news channels that its SERIOUS and then on others that its not so serious...Hmmm...Anywhoo...31 weeks and counting...I cant wait to see you Jade! Mommy loves you!

Just Catching Up!

GREAT! So it looks like we have more rain coming our way! I really hate it because my allergies act up sooo bad! Plus, when it storms really bad the way it did this past weekend…my street gets flooded. Check out my driveway and front yard!

This weekend was pretty relaxed and chilled. On Friday, we went to Babies R Us to finish up the last of our registration. YAY! Bought my mom her carseat! She was excited to see it! LOL. Lupe put together the baby stroller that we got for us. The days are just flying by, which I am so happy about because I just can not wait to meet my little girl! Lupe is just as excited...he is constantly having dreams about her LOL! He is a silly goose!
I have also started baking again! YAY….I made this awesome Cinnamon Coffer Cake. From scratch!! YES…FROM SCRATCH! It came out super yummy!

Sleepless in Houston! *sigh*

So apparently its "normal" to suffer from insomnia during your pregnancy. Unfortunately for me, I have a bad case of it. Its about 1:22 AM and I can not sleep, mother nature called about 10 min ago....and just cant go back to sleep. So I decided I am going to keep record of how many times I do this during the rest of my pregnancy. This is about the 10Th time. But my first time keeping record of it. So, let me use this time to catch up and type about whats been going on.

• I am now 26 weeks! I am so excited. Almost there! However, as I am approaching my last trimester, I cant help but to start getting nervous. I think a lot about her. I wonder if I will be a good mom. Who will she look like. Etc Etc. Then theres the symptoms.....here lately...PRESSURE, and some minor but dull back aches. Today I actually suffered from a few dizzy spells. This has never happened this much. But I read that its "normal" LOL. All I can say is...she is all well worth it!


• Today...Ma, Alex and I went to Michael's Arts and Craft store and signed up for Professional Cake Decorating Classes!! How neat right? The classes were super cheap, apparently they have some sale going on and we got the class at $22.50 each! This will be fun. It will be something us girls can do together!


• I just logged on to MySpace...and saw that Stink told me she mailed an invitation for Lexi's bday! YAY!! CAKE! Thanks Stink.


• I joined Facebook...and I am not really liking it. Its a bit weird and I don't know anyone on it LOL.


• This Friday, the kids, Lupe, Ma, possibly Al...we are all going to do the 3D ultrasounds! How exciting! I cant wait to see them. Hopefully we can see her features and get some sort of tiny peek at who she may look like!!

Ok, so now I am starting to get sleepy again! Good Night and I will type again tomorrow. Lets see what time nature calls tomorrow! HEHE...

Dr. Appt and update

The baby is doing well, Thank God! This weekend I had a scare...I started getting moderate cramps, which scared me because I had never felt them that bad through my entire pregnancy. I went to the Dr and she said I was fine....I just need to learn to relax and not over due myself. I agree! I am the type of person that tends to just keep going even though I am tired....and that is not good for me at this time. So as of NOW...I will learn how to relax and take it easy. Right now as we speak...I am sipping on a delicious hot tea, under the covers. My wonderful husband went and bought me this relaxation CD and this "Midnight Moon" scented oil which he has lit up for me and now, here I am...relaxing a typing LOL.

GIRL!!! OMG ITS A GIRL!! I can not stop smiling, and her daddy is even more excited! As soon as we left the Dr.'s office he went and bought her a Dallas Cowboys Onsie LOL.. We are super excited, and feel so blessed to have our little baby girl on her way!

The Big Day!!

So, tomorrow is the big day for my honey and I. We will find out what we are having. AHHHH I am super excited and just pray that God gives me a healthy baby! So....will it be a girl or a boy?? I will post it tomorrow (if the baby co-operates)

My parents are absolutly extatic about the baby, and I will be super blessed that my wonderful mom will watch our baby. I will not have a worry in the world knowing that my mom is watching her/him. My hubby feels super relieved as well. We both know that our baby will be showered with love and hugs and kisses from my parents. I know they will be awesome Grandparents! My mom actually gave us a gift....she bought the baby crib!! It's sooo nice! I will post a picture of it later today or tomorrow!

Adventourous Sue!

She is quite the free spirit…she enjoys outdoor activities; I would say she is a modern day Lara Croft Tomb raider.
